DIED:- In Watsonville, Jan 7 1918, a the family residence, 233 Ford street, George Douglas Maynard, beloved husband of Elizabeth Maynard, aged 70 years, a native of Illinois.
George D. Maynard Died Last Evening.
George D. Maynard died at his home at 233 Ford street last evening, January 7, 1918, at nine o'clock, aged 70 years.
The deceased was a resident of the Amesti district for about six years moving into Watsonville about six months ago. He has been ailing for some time past and the coming of the end was not entirely unexpected. He was a veteran of the Civil War.
He leaves a wife and a son and daughter to survive him. The daughter who resides at Seattle has arrived and the son is expected to get here from New Mexico this evening.
Funeral services will beheld from the home tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W.P. Rankin of the Methodist church. Interment will be made at the I.O.O.F cemetery.
