William Walter King
Pioneer Cemetery, Watsonville

W.W. King was found in his room in the Cooper block, yesterday afternoon, suffering from an overdose of morphine, which had undoubtedly been taken to relieve the pains he suffered at time caused by an incurable bowel complaint. Dr. Harvey discovered Mr. King in this condition, and he and Dr. Easterday worked for many hours in an attempt to save his life. But their efforts were in vain and Mr. King died about 1 o'clock this morning. The deceased was a veteran of the civil war. He came to this city from Santa Cruz about one year ago. He was an honorable and well read gentleman and had made many friends during his residence here. He was a native of Pennsylvania, where most of his relatives reside, and was aged about 62 years. An only daughter, Mrs. Gaston Latellier, resides in Paris, France. The remains are at the undertaking parlors of Burland Bros.
