Wednesday morning at five o'clock Henry F Hobart died of consumption at the Kittridge House. The deceased was for many years editor and proprietor of the Beloit (Wisconsin) Free Press. He disposed of his business two years ago and sought to regain his shattered health. The deceased came to this city from Las Vegas, New Mexico three weeks ago. He first visited Santa Cruz Three years ago and was the cousin of Mrs. C.L. Anderson and Mrs. H. Fay. Mr. Hobart was forty-one years of age. Mrs. Hobart, his widow, and K Hobart, editor of the Railway Age (Chicago) were with him at the time of death. The funeral will take place today, and the remains will be temporarily buried in the IOOF Cemetery. They will be taken to Beloit when the widow and brother return east which they will do in a few months. The mother of the deceased died a year ago Wednesday.
