Santa Cruz Sentinel (April 25, 1929)DIED: HARRINGTON- In Santa Cruz, April 24, 1929, Henry R. Harrington, aged 83 years, 3 months and 18 days, native of Canada.
Funeral of the deceased will be held from the Chase mortuary, Saturday at 2 o'clock. Friends and acquaintances are respectfully invited to attend. Interment in I.O.O.F. cemetery.
Civil War Vet Dies at Hospital
Henry Harrington, a Civil War veteran and a gentleman of the finest type, beloved by his family and honored and respected by his many friends and neighbors, died last night at the Mission hospital.
Mr. Harrington had gone beyond his four score of years and at the time of his passing was 83 years of age.
He was born in Canada and served this country during the Civil War.
He came to Santa Cruz from Roseburg, Oregon 12 years ago and has been residing at 19 Bellevue avenue.
He had seen much of the world in his early life, as he was on a whaling vessel and had sailed all the seas and gained a rare world knowledge.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Harrington and two sons, Roy and Ira reside in Oregon. A niece, Mrs. Josephine Noble reside in this city.
The body is at Chase's mortuary.

Funeral services for Henry Harrington were held yesterday with impressive services at the chapel of Chase's mortuary.
Rev. Joseph C. Carpenter of the First Methodist church was the officiating clergyman, and the hymns were sung by ms. Duncan McDonald.
Veterans of the Civil War were present as the deceased was a veteran.
The burial was at the Odd Fellows cemetery.
