To Attend Funeral

Shasta circle, Ladies of the G.A.R., will meet at 1:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon in Ricketts undertaking parlors to take part in the funeral of E.T. Gourley. Starr King Post will have charge of the services at the grave and Rev. Warren D. More, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate at the services at the undertaking parlor.

Eliakim Gourley was born Oct. 21, 1840 in Nova Scotia Canada. He was enlisted as a Private in Co. H of the 2nd CA Infantry, served in the Union army, and was mustered out on July 20, 1866. He later affiliated with Starr King Post #52 in Santa Barbara California.

He died on Dec. 17, 1908 at the San Marcos Hotel in Santa Barbara, and was interred in the Santa Barbara cemetery, Mtn View section, Lot 116, GR 3.
