Henry G. Earle Passed Away Today

Henry G. Earle, a veteran of the Civil War, passed away at the family residence at No. 24 Elm Avenue this morning at 6 o'clock, aged 76 years 8 months and 6 days. He was a native of Worcester, Massachusetts.

Mr. Earle was a shoemaker, and upon coming to California held the position of foreman of the lasting department of the Buckingham-Hecht Company at San Francisco, where he remained thirty one years. He came to Watsonville seventeen years ago and has conducted a shoe repairing shop here since that time. He was a member of the G.A.R. and served in Company F Fifteenth Massachusetts Infantry during the Civil War. He was the last survivor of five brothers, who held a reunion at Watsonville in 1915. At that time the average age of the five was seventy three years. The four who passed away before Mr. Earle were: Slade A. Earle of Watsonville, Captain David M. Earle of Worcester, Mass; Antipas F. Earle, and Israel C. Earle, of West Summerville, Mass.

Mr. Earle was a genial gentleman well known and respected by the people of Watsonville and the Pajaro valley and will be missed from among the familiar figures in the city. Besides his wife he leaves two children Mrs. Lillian G McBain of Burlingame, and Fred a Earle of Hollister, and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia E Tucker of North Brookfield, Mass, Mrs. Hattie Earle Green of North Brookfield Mass, and Mrs. Elizabeth Abbott, of Worcester, Mass.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 3 at 2:30 P.M. from his late residence No. 24 Elm Street. Internment [in] Watsonville (Hollister papers please copy).
