Funeral of Harvey Comstock

The funeral of Harvey Comstock took place at his late residence this afternoon. The services at the house were led by Rev. E.H. Hayden, and the G.A.R. conducted the ceremony at the grave.

The cortege was a long one and many beautiful floral tributes were sent. A firing squad of eight naval Reserves fired the last salute over the grave.

The pallbearers were Phillip Hynes, Charles Craghill, G. Littlefield, H.C. Henny, S.B. Swanton and H.J. Stone.

On Thursday afternoon the Knights and Sisters (Pythias Encampment) were given a carriage drive to various points of interest in and around the city. Owing to the large number of visitors and a lack of carriages a comparatively small number could not be accommodated. The reason for the lack of carriages was owing to the funeral of the late Harvey Comstock, a well know citizen. Many owners of carriages attended the funeral, expecting to reach the Lower Plaza in time to convey the visitors in and around the city, but arrived too late.
