Santa Cruz Sentinel (November 23, 1895)

Dr. C.A. Bonesteel, from San Francisco, has located family and self at his new residence on Plum St., East Santa Cruz, near Seabright station; and opened an office at 159 Pacific Av.

The doctor has in the past been associated with Dr. Jordan & Co. of San Francisco as consulting physician at their Museum of Anatomy, thereby gaining much experience in acute and chronic diseases, especially of men.

He is a member of the Grand Army having served in the Army of the Potomac, being wounded and disabled at the second battle of Bull Run, is also a member of the Masonic and Odd Fellow orders.

Finding from experience in the past the healthfulness of our Santa Cruz climate, the doctor will take up his permanent residence here and hopes to merit the good will and interest of our community.

Dr. Bonesteel, after a couple of years in the Santa Cruz area subsequently moved to Alameda County. California Death Index information records his death in Siskiyou County in 1912.
