Seabright Resident Called By Death
John Owen Baxter, a prominent Mason, who with his wife, came to Santa Cruz to reside about two years ago, passed away at his home at 25 Third Ave. Seabright, this morning after an illness of a serious nature. Since coming to Santa Cruz, Mr. Baxter has been living a life of retirement, and previous to his last illness seemed enjoying good health. Before coming to Santa Cruz Mr. Baxter resided in Iowa and Wisconsin for a number of years.
Deceased was a native of Wales 79 years of age. The remains are at the parlors of C.C. Chase.

Funeral services today at 2 PM from Chase undertaking parlors. Friends and acquaintances invited. Interment in Odd Fellows cemetery.

Funeral of J.O. Baxter
The funeral over the late J.O. Baxter was held yesterday afternoon at Chase undertaking parlors, and was under the auspices of the Masons. Friends gathered and the casket was covered with lovely flowers.
At the parlor the episcopal service was read by F.M. Church of Calvary Church, while the Masons were in charge at the cemetery. Members of the order also served as pallbearers.
