BATTLES- At Kingsburg Cal Jul 11, 1882 Caleb age 60 years.

Watsonville Pajaronian (July 13, 1882)

Caleb Battles who resided in this valley for years until recently, was thrown out of a wagon near Selma, Fresno County on Thursday, receiving injuries which caused his death. He was a member of R.L. McCook Post G.A.R., and if we mistake not, was a veteran of the Mexican war. He was related to Charles and Asa Knapp and Charles Kennedy of this place.
