Andrew Alexander age 18 years, a resident of Van Buren County and a native of Ohio, enlisted and was mustered as a private into the 15th IA Infantry on May 25, 1864. He was discharged on September 16, 1864. He re-enlisted as a private in Co. E of the 15th IA Infantry on January 25 1865 and was discharged at Louisville KY on July 24th 1865. Pension records indicate that he applied for a pension (application # 1,158,834) on June 19, 1894 in Arizona. His widow (Fannie) applied for her pension from California on January 17, 1896. Application # 626,758.
