Governing board revamp put on hold
The proposal to reorganize the oversight of the SCPL system has been postponed in order to focus on upgrading facilities
- New Capitola library is one of the upgrades
- The reorganizing would have downsized the membership from nine to a four-member board composed of city managers in SC, SV, Capitola, plus the county admin. officer
- Chief Landers proposing to amend the financing authority to allow creation of a taxing district to issue debt
- Some argue that the public should have access to these meetings in some way, because there is a lot of money being handled and discussed
