Scotts Valley Library to Debut Special Needs Resource Center
Available June 2, Scotts Valley library will house books and materials for the special needs community
- Conditions included in the collection include Autism, ADHD, ADD, Tourette's Syndrome, Asperger's Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Visual Impairment, Pervasive Developmental Delays, Dyspraxia, Bipolar disorder, sensory processing disorders, Down Syndrome, Anxiety, Depression, OCD
- Internationally known therapist and author Michelle Garcia Winner donated materials from her company Social Thinking Publishing
- Available Resources:
- addressing legal rights for people with disabilities
- obtaining appropriate educational placement
- dealing with siblings of a special needs child
