'Monsters of the deep' came ashore from the bay
Describes a deep undersea canyon and annual whale migrations. Discovery, speculation, and taxonomic classification of sea monster that washed ashore at Moore Beach in 1925. Stories of various sea monsters over the years, such as the ribbon fish in 1938, the leopard shark in 1944, and the "strange bag of bones" (examined and classified as an elephant seal) in 1949.
