More rain expected

Further rains are expected in the Santa Cruz Area after heavy rains triggered the Boulder Brook slide, and trees falling on utility lines resulted in widespread power outages. About 2500 residents of higher elevation areas of Scotts Valley and the San Lorenzo Valley are without power. An evacuation order for 25 Boulder Brook residents has been extended due to the unstable hillside, and concern about a nearby reservoir. The search also continues for missing Boulder Brook resident Amy Ratnofsky, after her cabin was hit by a large mudslide. Conditions remain dangerous in the Boulder Brook Area. Nearby, the San Lorenzo River height is being monitored closely, as flood conditions upstream will result in downstream risks for Felton Grove.
