A nostalgic look at Santa's Village

This article includes photos and describes the history of the Santa’s Village theme park in Scotts Valley. It was first developed by H. Glenn Holland in 1957 as the second of three theme parks that were also located in Lake Arrowhead, California and in Dundee, Illinois. The park cost $400,000 to build and was staffed by local teenagers in elf costumes. The park closed in 1979 citing competition with local attractions and rainy weather affecting business.
