Note on back: Held each September in Capitola, the Begonia Capital of the world...the festival activities include fishing derbys, water ski races, boat races, barbecues, and ends with the Parade of Floats.
It began as the Capitola Water Follies organized by Peggy Matthews in 1952. This year the Capitola Begonia Festival will celebrate 63 years when the City of Capitola hosts the event over the Labor Day Weekend, September 2015.
