One of his main responsibilities in Normandy, France was to move equipment and heavy machinery on the train from the beach to the front line. He was in charge of transporting General Patton's 4th Armored Division Tanks on the train used in the Battle of the Bulge. He served in Strasbourg, Luxembourg, Belgium, Bastogne and Germany. Rimicci received three Overseas Service Bars, an American Campaign Medal, European-American-Middle Eastern Ribbon with 4 Bronze Battle Stars and medals, and French Legion of Honor Medal.
