Designed by Edward Van Cleeck, Santa Cruz County architecht. Built in 1914 and originally in use from 1914 to 1945 as a dairy barn for the Frapwell's Live Oak Dairy.
The Steward barn on Bay Street, three blocks from Cowell's Beach. Visiting surfers stored their boards in the loft and some slept there as well.
