About this Collection

This collection of ephemera originated with a substantial contribution from Preston Sawyer (1899-1968). He grew up in Santa Cruz and worked for local newspapers, and wrote the “Santa Cruz Yesterdays” feature in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. While most of his collection is at UCSC, some of his ephemera is at SCPL. The arts is one emphasis of the collection, with a particular focus on movies and movie theatres in the early 20th century.

More recent material in the collection has been added by librarians at SCPL from a variety of sources and donors.
